DAN 114 Ballet Basics I
This course will introduce the student to the foundational skills and techniques necessary for ballet dance. The course provides an emphasis on the basics of classical ballet techniques through basic movement combinations, body alignment and postural awareness, physical improvisation and creative expression. The course is required for majors in Musical Theatre.
This course may be repeated once for academic credit.

Students should have completed a dance placement exam to establish eligibility, or student should receive authorization from the Director of the Dance Program to enroll in the course.
