Placement in German is determined using the highest course level completed, as documented on high school transcripts only. Middle school coursework does not apply. These courses are not open to native speakers of German. GER 101 is for students with no prior German coursework. GER 102 is for students who completed German I in high school or GER 101 at UTampa. GER 201 is for students who completed German II in high school or GER 102 at UTampa. GER 202 is for students who completed German III or German IV in high school or GER 201 at UTampa. Students cannot take GER 101, 102, 201, and 202 concurrently. See the course descriptions for the requirements of each course.
