PUP 101 Introduction to Public Administration

This course introduces students to ideas, concepts, and theories associated with the field of Public Administration. Topics can include organizational decision making, the bureaucracy and policy implementation, administrative law, personnel management, budgeting and finance, the nonprofit sector, emergency management, and ethics in government.

PUP 390 Public Policy Internship

This course integrates the foundations of public policy with applied experience through the completion of an internship. Students will complete their policy-relevant supervised internship over the course of the semester, while also connecting real-world experiences to theories of institutions, policymaking, representation, and governance.

Prerequisites

Junior or Senior status and instructor permission.

PUP 475 Senior Research Seminar in Public Policy

A capstone course for public policy majors that focuses on the analysis of contemporary policy problems and proposed alternatives.

Credit Hours: 4

Prerequisites

PSC 269 and PSC 270 (research methods requirements for the PUP major). Course is only available to Policy, PSC, and IST majors with at least 90 credit hours.
