BIO 475 Introductory Bioinformatics

Bioinformatics is a rapidly growing field that integrates computational skills with the biological sciences. The field spans medical and graduate programs, as well as private and government sectors. In this course, students will build fundamental skills in file management, database inquiry,
and program implementation. Core phylogenetic concepts will be discussed at depth, including alignments, substitution models, and tree search methods.
