BIO 420 Field Ecology

An introduction to the basic ecological principles that govern the abundance and distribution of organisms, particularly at the population and community levels. The course emphasizes addressing ecological questions by employing common field methods and techniques used in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of ecological data. Scientific inquiry will occur through integrated classroom, laboratory, and field-based activities, introducing students to techniques employed by those in professional ecological fields of study. Common ecological relationships at the population and community levels will be emphasized throughout the course.
