2-3 Governance Responsibilities
(a) The Faculty is responsible for making decisions regarding curriculum design and implementation, academic standards, admission standards, and degree requirements, in accordance with specified procedures, as set forth in the Standing Rules and Faculty Handbook.
(b) The Faculty sets criteria for faculty appointment, promotion, and assignment to academic rank, subject to the approval of the Provost.
(c) The Faculty makes recommendations to the Office of the Provost regarding Faculty appointments, promotion, assignment to rank, awarding of degrees, and other academic matters.
(d) The Faculty may make recommendations to the Provost on matters of fiscal or administrative concern that have academic implications including program creation or elimination.
