Completion of Fieldwork Experiences
All fieldwork experiences are considered professional courses and must be successfully completed to continue with full-time study into the next semester.
Fieldwork education courses will occur at the facility assigned by the AFWC, Clinical Education Placement Associate, and/or designated faculty. For Level I Fieldwork, placements may be off-campus at affiliated fieldwork facilities throughout the Greater Boston/New England geography, or, within the IHP Clinical Centers, including in-person and telehealth experiences. Level II Fieldwork occurs with students participating in two,12-week, full-time equivalent placements at affiliated fieldwork facilities across the U.S.
It is not the student’s prerogative to decline a fieldwork education placement; such action will be considered refusal to take a required course. Likewise, a student who decides to discontinue participation in a fieldwork experience prior to its scheduled end date, without successful petition for a grade of Incomplete (see III.5.3. Incompletes), will receive a grade of “F” for that course, and may delay further advancement in the program curriculum.
