The content includes the use of technology to develop communications and decision-making skills, the performance of office procedures and tasks specific to a medical office, and the production of quality work in an efficient manner using advanced features of business software applications. The program focuses on broad, transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstration of the following requirements of the medical office: computerized patient billing, appointment scheduling, recordkeeping, medical terminology, machine transcription, and word processing. The program is offered in an open entry-open exit, self-paced individualized format and offers on- the-job training.
