This program offers a sequence of two courses that provide coherent and rigorous content aligned with relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for careers in the Security Industry. Upon successful completion of the CJK V132, the student may apply for Class "D" certification as a Private Security Officer in accordance with Florida Statute 493. Upon successful completion of the CJK V134, the student may apply for Class "G" certification as an Armed Private Security Officer in accordance with Florida Statute 493.
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) licenses and regulates the private security industry in accordance with Chapter 493, Florida Statutes (F.S.). Any individual who performs the services of a security officer must have a Class “D” license. To qualify for a license, the individual must submit to fingerprinting and complete 40-hour security guard training. Total fees required for a Class “D” application is $97.75.
