NUR 230 Pharmacology
Guided by the AACN Essentials (2021), this course introduces foundational pharmacological principles essential for safe, effective nursing practice. Emphasizing drug safety, mechanisms of action, and therapeutic effects, students will develop a comprehensive understanding of
pharmacology within the context of holistic, patient-centered care. The course integrates concepts of medication administration, adverse effects, client education, and evidence-based decision-making to promote optimal health outcomes. Through interactive classroom learning, students
will enhance their ability to collaborate with interprofessional teams and advocate for patients’ safe medication management. This course includes four hours of classroom instruction per week.
