Academic and Course Performance
All graduate students are required to maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 each semester. Per the Institute Policy, failure to do so will place the student on academic probation for the following semester as approved by the Dean/Chair/Program Director. Students who are placed on probation must regain a cumulative 3.0 GPA within the following semester or they will be subject to academic dismissal. Students who fail to achieve a course grade of B- (2.7) or better will not be allowed to progress in the OTD curriculum and will be referred to the CAPP. The Committee, in collaboration with course faculty and the student’s academic advisor, will determine if it is necessary for the student to take a leave of absence and repeat the course the following year. The CAPP will also determine whether a student is adequately prepared to continue in the OTD program under academic probation if the student’s cumulative grade falls below 3.0 GPA.
