Pruitt Campus Port St. Lucie
Located in the rapidly growing city of Port St. Lucie, Florida, the Indian River State College Pruitt Campus offers a wide range of daytime and evening college-credit courses leading to associate and bachelor’s degrees, as well as certificates. The campus also serves as a center for Adult Education, offering English as a Second Language (ESL) and General Educational Development (GED®) programs, and is home to the School of Continuing Education, which provides CPR courses, the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) program, workforce training, and professional development opportunities.
The William and Helen Thomas STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Center houses the Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and features advanced laboratories in genetics, ecology, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, molecular biology, botany, and microbiology. This state-of-the-art instructional facility prepares students for high-demand careers along Florida’s Research Coast and in other STEM-related fields.
To support student success, the Pruitt Campus offers a modern academic and public library, a Tutoring Center providing free individualized assistance, and a Testing Center. The Student Success Center is staffed by advisors and specialists who provide admissions counseling, academic advising, registration assistance, financial aid guidance, and career counseling.
The Pruitt Campus is also home to the Indian River State College Veterans Center of Excellence, a more than 12,000-square-foot facility dedicated to supporting veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. The Center features two full-time advisors/specialists, a professional conference space, a student lounge, and a study commons where veteran students regularly gather.
Beginning in Fall 2023, the Pruitt Campus became home to the Indian River State College School of Nursing. A $14 million capital expansion, launched in Spring 2022, added a state-of-the-art simulation facility and expanded instructional capacity, allowing the College to double the size of its nursing program. The Medical Assistant program is also located on the Pruitt Campus.
