Program Purpose: The Interiors program is designed to prepare students for employment in a variety of positions in today's interior field. The Interiors program provides learning opportunities which introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge and skills, required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The knowledge and skills emphasized in this program include; interior design fundamentals; selection and specification of interior finishes, furnishings, and equipment; creation and interpretation of interior floor plans and construction documents; software drafting and drawing applications; current industry technologies; building systems and codes for interiors; communication with architects, contractors, and clients; and client presentations and business principles. Additionally, the program provides opportunities to upgrade present knowledge and skills or to retrain in the area of interiors. Graduates of the program receive an interiors diploma.
