HHP 260 Care & Prevent Athletic Injury
Prerequisite: BIO 101 or BIO 201 or permission of instructor
This course is designed for those students who are interested in learning more about prevention, recognition, and treatment of injuries that result during or from physical activity and sports. Non-orthopedic conditions and topics will be introduced as they relate to sports medicine. The class will use both classroom and lab formats allowing students the opportunity to acquire the latest knowledge and practical skills used in allied health fields such as athletic training. Examples of practical skills include taping techniques, splinting, crutch fitting, weight lifting techniques, would closure, bandaging and concussion assessment.
