BUS 325 Org. Crisis & Resilience

This class in Organizational Crisis & Resilience will explore management during a crisis through the lens of some of the most infamous organizational crises, cases, and disasters. This course equips aspiring managers with the essential competencies to guide an organization through high-stakes threats. The curriculum focuses on the entire crisis life cycle from the managerial perspective. It begins with proactive risk mitigation and preparedness, moving through initial response and triage, and on to post-crisis recovery and organizational learning. Core topics include situational awareness and crisis classification, resource allocation under pressure, managing a crisis management team, stakeholder communication, and
reputational management. Through the analysis of real-world case studies, students will learn to apply proven frameworks, such as Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) and Incident Management and Command Systems, to protect organizational assets and ensure business continuity. The course develops the critical skills needed for effective decision-making and performance management in the face of adversity.
