11.2.1. Attendance at Examinations
If a student is unable to attend a written, oral, or practical examination, the student must notify the instructor by e-mail
prior to the exam. The student must be able to substantiate a valid reason for missing the exam, such as illness, religious holiday, or a death in the family. Except in extenuating circumstances, failure to notify the instructor in advance will result in failure of the exam at the discretion of the instructor. In the event a student is permitted to make up a missed daily Individual Readiness Assessment Test (IRAT), they will be given the same grade for the Team Readiness Assessment Test (TRAT) as they earned for the IRAT. In the event the student has requested a pre-approved absence, they will not be permitted to make up the TRAT portion and will receive a grade of zero for that TRAT only.
When, after proper notification, a student misses an exam, the student must contact the instructor within 48 hours following the original exam date to schedule a make-up exam. The make-up exam day, time, and place are at the discretion of the course coordinator, but must occur before the beginning of the next semester. The format of the exam will be determined by the course instructor and will not be the same as the missed exam. Failure to make timely arrangements to make up the exam will result in a grade of zero for that exam.
