COS 0521 Barbering II: Applied Skills and Skillset Review (N)

In this course, students build upon the foundational skills developed in Barbering I and expand their knowledge through the practice of intermediate barbering techniques and services. Students perform advanced haircutting methods including clipper-over-comb and shear-over-comb techniques, tapering, and fading. Students develop skills in beard and mustache grooming, facial shaving procedures, and scalp treatments while strengthening their ability to conduct client consultations and perform hair and scalp analysis. Emphasis is placed on students demonstrating proper sanitation and safety procedures, using barbering tools and equipment correctly, and following state barbering laws and regulations.
