BIO 323 Principles of Physiology
Prerequisites: BIO 110 &113 AND CHM 221; OR permission of instructor; a sophomore-, junior-, or senior-level course
This course explores the major principles of physiology by examining how different animals, including humans, carry out their life-sustaining functions. Emphasis is placed on the nervous system, the endocrine system, thermoregulation, metabolism, muscle, the respiratory system, the cardiovascular system, and water-solute balance in the major vertebrate groups. Three class periods and one three-hour laboratory period each week. NOTE: Not open to students with credit in BIO 101, BIO 102, BIO 201 or BIO 202.
