PHY 127 General Physics I
Prerequisite: Completion or waiver of MAT 115
The first semester of a two-semester introductory sequence in non-calculus physics, with laboratory. Major topics may include Newtonian mechanics, conservation of energy and momentum, rotational motion, fluids, and thermodynamics. Students will learn to apply basic principles of physics to explain and model natural phenomena, with an emphasis on applications in the life sciences. Three lecture periods and one laboratory session each week. Natural Science Laboratory Course.
